Estrada Palacio is a small famil estate at the foot of the Pyrennees mountains. They are dry-farming 7 hectares of old vines in poor, sandy, dry soil. The vineyards are situated at an average of 450 metres above sea level with annual rain rates of around 550 mm. Yields are very low, 4000 kg of grapes for each hectare, producing exceptional grapes, which are hand sorted. These wines are great. We loved them when we tasted them and were very excited to add a producer in Somontano DO to our portfolio. They even use one of my favorite crosses from Italy, Incrocio Manzoni, from Trento. DO not sleep on these wines! They are inexpensive, but they are great!!
